The video must also be made up of content which has been uploaded to the platform, rather than being embedded from external sources.
In terms of view hours, YouTube Shorts must meet the same criteria as regular videos, in order to count. For example, the video must be started by the viewer and watched for at least 30 seconds. The video must also not be played in autoplay or muted, as YouTube does not count these views towards view hours. Furthermore, views derived from platforms outside of YouTube such as embedded links, do not count towards view hours.
